The Republic of Uganda is located in eastern Africa, west of Kenya. Uganda has a total area of 236,040 sq km with a population of 27,269,482 (July 2005 est.). Bordering countries are Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan and Tanzania. Climate of Uganda is tropical and generally rainy with two dry seasons (December to February, June to August) and also semiarid in northeast. The terrain is mostly plateau with rim of mountains and elevation varying between 621 m at Lake Albert and Margherita Peak on Mount Stanley 5,110 m. The capital of Uganda is Kampala.
The natural resources of Uganda include: copper, cobalt, hydropower, limestone and salt.
