Our Scroll Reveal feature is powered by the script found here: https://github.com/julianlloyd/scrollReveal.js. The script allows you to add "data-scroll-reveal" to HTML elements for on page scroll animations. We recommend adding to DIVs over SPAN etc as DIVs can move vs SPAN tags just fading in. Once you add the code to a DIV refresh a page or scroll down and it will animate in. It will only do this once until you refresh the page again. The great feature about the script is you can use plain English to describe how you'd like to animate your HTML element.

Example of this in action (refresh this page if you didn't see it already):

Enter from the left and move up 50px in 1.33 seconds.
Enter from the bottom after 1 second.
Wait 2.5 seconds and then ease-in-out 100px.

Code used for the above:

<div data-scroll-reveal="enter left and move 50px over 1.33s"> Enter from the left and move up 50px in 1.33 seconds. </div>

<div data-scroll-reveal="enter from the bottom after 1s"> Enter from the bottom after 1 second. </div>

<div data-scroll-reveal="wait 2.5s and then ease-in-out 100px"> Wait 2.5 seconds and then ease-in-out 100px. </div>

Parallax backgrounds as well as other background options are built directly into the Vertex Framework. Parallax causes the background image of an element to scroll at a different speed than your browser. For an example of this view the homepage of the Velocity template here and watch the background of the top_row1 area as you scroll down the page. This feature is found under "Backgrounds" tab in Vetex, where you can control the background for many areas of your website.

Features:

  • Set the scroll speed of the images
  • Set background repeat style
  • Set background image size, 100%, cover, contain, etc
  • Set custom backgrounds for all s5 rows in the framework.
  • Enable or disable parallax on a per row basis

1. Enter the url of your video in the video src area.
2. Enter your background image under the video_overlay_wrap style area. This is the background image that appears before the video loads and at 1024px. Please note that all videos disable at 1024px due to restrictions on tablets and phones.
3. Enter an optional max-height under the video_overlay_wrap style area. This will prevent the video from becoming larger than the height specified.
4. Enter an optional min-height under the video_overlay_wrap style area. This will prevent the video from becoming smaller than the height specified. This is very useful for when the video is disabled at 750px, and the background image shows in its place.
4. Enter an optional width under the video_overlay_wrap style area. This will stretch the video to a specified length, but will be cropped off by the surrounding parent div.
4. Enter your desired text in the video_overlay_text_wrap_inner area. Text should be minimal to avoid any space issues on smaller screens; videos maintain ratio and decrease on smaller devices.

Regional and Country Level Training Workshops on Geo-data Digitization and Mapping of Development Minerals

The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme is a three-year, €13.1 million capacity building program of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, financed by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and implemented by UNDP. The aim of the programme is to promote the sustainable development of industrial minerals, construction materials, dimension stones and semi-precious stones in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.
The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme supports the capacity development of key stakeholders in the sector such as regulatory agencies and local governments; private stakeholders including small-scale mining enterprises, construction companies, mining and quarrying associations; as well as training centres, universities, civil society organizations and community groups.

The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme is implemented at both the regional and country levels. At the regional level, the programme conducts capacity building activities with participants from forty (40) ACP countries (28 in Africa) through regional training workshops, field trips, the production of guidance products and knowledge exchange. At the country level, in depth capacity building is undertaken with six focus countries: Cameroon (Central Africa); Guinea - Conakry (West Africa); Uganda (East Africa); Zambia (Southern Africa); Jamaica (Caribbean); and Fiji (Pacific). Country-level activities include: training; small grants; the production of maps and databases; development of regulations on environment, health and safety; organization of community dialogues, technology fairs and networking events The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme and the African Minerals and Geosciences Centre (AMGC) signed agreement for AMGC to deliver a series of regional and country level training workshops on geological data digitization techniques, field mapping, resource estimation and database management of Development Minerals.  Through this project AMGC will organize and carry out 10 training workshops for participants from the African ACP countries starting from October 2017 up to June 2018.  Through this programme more than 220 professionals are expected to be trained from 29 African countries.
